San Francisco based Phil Perkins' masterpiece "Hall of Flowers" is an epic sound collage kaleidoscopic mandala sample based 21 minute piece that predates early Orb/KLF massive "Chill Out" sound excursions. Perkins says, "I was interested in making a long, sonically complex work for radio based on a single "cell" the effect to be like moving through the eponymous "hall": a collection of similar objects in reverberant space with a crowd of people in attendance. The piece was specifically composed for radio broadcast, in that it was designed so that a listener could tune in at any point, listen for any length of time and get the gist of what was happening; while still making the full length an interesting and enjoyable experience. DJ's are formally invited to talk overt the piece at any point, use it as background for news, weather announcements..." A shop favorite perfect for the end of a long weekend. Copy is NM in shrink
