Crystal Waves is a true Private Issue New Age masterpiece. Swathed in delicate reverb and echo, the instruments on the album (cello, glass harmonica, ch’in, ocharina, h’siao, flutes, bowls & gong) fold over each other creating an endless flow of dawn-sound. Casper plays with tape speeds and direction throughout the album, drastically slowing down instruments extenuating their shimmering timbral qualities and morphing them into other instruments. The result is beautiful and utterly psychedelic, possibly the best wake and bake album of all time.
