Orchestra Of The Eigth Day - At The Last Gate
Orchestra of The Eight Day was a duo of Polish composers Jan A.P. Kaczmarek and Krzysztof Ścierański. Under the Iron Curatin a version of Cubase software and an Atari were smuggled into the country and the two composers created Avant Garde music for a theatre group called the Eighth Day. Using obscure zithers like the Fisher's Fidola, Niewczyk's Concert Fidola, Flute and early VSTs the group recreated Polish folk traditions with early Cubase software veering into the realm of EG, Hassel, Lanois and the zones of Rex Illusivi. A one of a kind record. Jan A.P. Kaczmarek went on to win an Academy Award for the Score of Finding Neverland.
